The Turkmen Embassy in France and the French-Turkmen Chamber of Commerce (CCFT) jointly organized a large reception on November 14, 2016, to celebrate 25 years of independence and French presence in Turkmenistan.
This diplomatic and economic event was held in the prestigious Académie Diplomatique Internationale, on Avenue Hoche.
S.E. Tchary Niiazov, Turkmen ambassador to France, and Gilles Remy, President of CCFT, personally welcomed the many representatives of the diplomatic, political and economic spheres with relations with Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by French parliamentarians such as Colette Langlade, President of the Franco-Turkmenistan friendship group at the National Assembly, Senator Claude Haut, Vice-President of the French-Central Asian friendship group in the Senate, and Jean-Marie Cambacérès, President of the European and International Affairs section of the Economic, Social and Environmental Committee, diplomats from various countries close to Turkmenistan, and high representatives from the French administration such as Florence Mangin, Head of Continental Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and François Delahousse, French Ambassador in Ashgabat.
A true connoisseur and long-time friend of Turkmenistan, Jean-Pierre Chevenement, a former minister, honored the organizers with his presence on an evening designed to promote exchanges between the many players in Franco-Turkmen relations.
The heads of CCFT-member companies, such as CIFAL, which represent the core of the economic cooperation between the two countries, presented their achievements and projects to the numerous and assorted guests.
Jean-Loïc Galle, Chairman of Thales Alenia Space, and Olivier-Marie Racine, CEO of Bouygues Construction, spoke of their experience spanning a quarter of a century with Turkmenistan. They emphasized the potential of our companies to support the modernization of this country, with close ties to France.
