European companies bet on bilateral relations.
The European Commission is not very successful among the post-Soviet ‘-stan’ nations,as its credibilitydeficit in the region is worsening with the failure of the Nabucco gas pipeline, a project that the Commission meant to be unifying and precedent-setting. German, Italian, Russian and Chinese companies increasingly opt for bilateral relations which prove to be essential for all important projects. France is moving to close the gap in its economic diplomacy. It is up to our firms to turn this support into actual market shares.
